An air and water search is underway for a swimmer missing off a Newcastle beach.
Police say emergency services were called to Stockton Beach about 3pm Sunday, in response to reports several swimmers were in trouble.
Once there, three swimmers were rescued from the water, but a man couldn’t be located.
One of the swimmers was taken to hospital as a precaution. The other two weren’t injured.
Police, along with surf lifesavers, are continuing to search the water for the missing man.
