Griezmann’s future

Antoine Griezmann has revealed his intentions to stay at Atletico Madrid, despite Man Utd’s interest.

He told Marca: “I am motivated to be someone important at Atlético, to be a legend in this club.

“I know I have to earn it. Now I have many goals for this year, but yes, I want a League and I need it. I’ve never done it and it would be nice. But it is very long and you have to work and see if you are lucky enough to win it.”

Van de Beek breaks silence

Donny van de Beek has broken his silence about his future at Man Utd.

The ex-Ajax star said: “I am bouncing to play matches again. The manager is making different choices now. We have a big squad and I am not the only one knocking on the door. We’ll see in January what happens.

“I need to start playing games very soon – if not at Man United then at another club. I think I have to be ambitious. I have always been a lover of the game. I am absolutely crazy about football. I earn a good living at United, but money is not my motivation. I want to enjoy my work every day.”

Berbatov’s prediction

Former Manchester United forward Dimitar Berbatov has given his prediction for tomorrow’s match against Everton.

He told Betfair: “It’s going to be an interesting game. With Everton being deducted 10 points, they’re suddenly in the relegation zone. If they win, it’ll be good for their belief. United have all these injuries, so it’s going to be tough for them going to Everton.

“You need to know how to make the smart choices as a club, when you don’t, the consequences are severe. The players will be devastated. Now, the players will need to do the hard work of getting the club back out of the relegation zone. They’ll be angry, for sure, with that decision. The hard work now starts against United.

“I get the feeling Everton have the chance to win this one based on so many injuries for United, especially if the fans are on board with the team. We all know the stadium can be crazy when backs are against the wall – I’ve experienced it. United do have a good record against Everton, though, so I’ll go for a 1-1 draw.”

Ten Hag defends his principles

Erik ten Hag has again defended his principles amid accusations that he does not play as attractive football at United as he did at Ajax.

In his latest press conference, he said: “Manchester United did not sign me to play the Ajax way. They signed me to win. To develop a project the way I did at Ajax. To win games in an adventurous way, and I think I have been able to show that in multiple games.”

Van De Beek looking to leave in January

Donny Van De Beek has said he does not regret joining Manchester United but is looking to leave the club in January.

In an interview with Dutch newspaper Der Telegraaf, Van De Beek said: “Last season I was sidelined for months because of my knee injury. It’s a terrible loss. I appreciate it even more because I have a fabulous job. I’m at a legendary club and I’m still proud to wear the Manchester United shirt every day.

“But I’m full of energy now, I’m back in great shape and I’m training like a beast. The time has come to make another choice.
