Speculation is rife over who the mystery man lying dead on the floor of the Queen Vic on Christmas Day is, after first being teased in a flashforward sequence earlier this year.
With just weeks to go, fans have been busy compiling their lists of who they think it will be, and Keanu is top suspect for many.
The character reached a new low recently when he faked the kidnap of his own son, Albie, after he was unable to flee the country with him.
It left his on-off partner Sharon Watts devastated, and while the couple have since reunited, she has no idea what her future husband did.
The couple are set to tie the knot this Christmas, with Sharon in a wedding dress in the flashforward, but now new pictures have shown Keanu saying goodbye to a newly returned Lauren Branning at a funeral.
Last week, pictures revealed acclaimed actor Alan Ford filming scenes for Aunt Sal’s funeral with other EastEnders cast members.
Now Danny Walters – who plays Keanu – has been pictured in funeral attire talking to Jacqueline Jossa, who plays Lauren.
The actor is then seen in character at the airport clutching his passport and a holdall, ready to jet off out of the country – but Sharon is nowhere to be seen.
Is he making a getaway with the £50k cash from the kidnapping plot? And was he playing Sharon all along despite claiming he loved her? More importantly, is this a sign he isn’t the Christmas Day victim?
It’s unknown when either of these scenes are set to air, and so it doesn’t rule Keanu out of the running just yet, as they could hit screens in the coming weeks before Christmas Day.
EastEnders airs on BBC One and is available on BBC iPlayer
