TikToker Dana Marie (@danaemari3) secretly captured the interaction and didn’t speak during the clip.

Instead, she drinks her wine and occasionally looks into the camera, zooming in on her sweatshirt.

She wore a beanie and a black hoodie to the event, that said “lies and bulls**t” inside of a cross.

Her family member, who is unnamed, was not supportive of her clothing choice.

“I just don’t understand why you would wear something super offensive like that on Thanksgiving,” the anonymous person said.

“Why don’t you get dressed up like the rest of the family?”

Dana didn’t answer the question.

“Wearing a dress might be a little bit better than a sweatshirt and a beanie for Thanksgiving,” the person continued. “It’s a nice day.”

Dana looked into the camera and sipped her wine.

“No way you thought you could wear a sweatshirt,” her kin continued.

“That’s super offensive to Thanksgiving dinner. What is your problem?” she finished.

In the caption, Dana said she might be skipping the Turkey Day gathering this year.

Drama during the holidays is not uncommon for women, research shows.

Sixty-eight percent of women polled said they expected some family drama to go down before dessert, according to a 2010 report by iVillage, per AdWeek.

Furthermore, 10% of women polled said they were “dreading” Thanksgiving with their families, iVillage’s research said.

There aren’t rules about what Americans can — or cannot — wear on Thanksgiving.

However, a 2014 article from Bon Appetit advised against sweatpants.

“If you want to be invited back, you absolutely can’t wear sweatpants to Thanksgiving,” they wrote.

But there is one caveat.

Loungewear is acceptable if they are “fashion sweatpants” and “you wear them with a chunky sweater and a cool pump,” Bon Appetit said.
