Customers keen for an early Christmas present rushed to stores as the famous Peppa Pig playset, which usually retails at £40, was seen being sold for £14.50 instead.

One shopper took to the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK to post: “Great bargain today in Tesco!! Was £40 down to £14.50!!!”

The caption was posted with a picture of the toy set and a store receipt that showed the huge price slash.

Recently, Tesco released a new ‘Value’ oodie for Christmas and people seem to have mixed reactions about it.

It features a huge Tesco Value slogan emblazoned on the front and has a snuggly interior too – with some saying it would make the perfect Secret Santa gift.

The snuggly top is in the supermarket’s colours of blue, white and red, and is sold for £15.

Debbie snapped one up for her son, and shared the purchase on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook.

“Perfect for my son for Christmas to go with his value socks,” she wrote.

“And just to let people know, no gingers were hurt in this purchase as he has a sense of humour and will actually wear it!”

The post instantly sparked debate, with people divided as to whether or not they liked it.

Some insisted they needed to go to Tesco immediately, while others said it was the perfect Secret Santa gift.

“Love it,” one wrote.

“Are they adults or kids? I need to find it,” another asked.

With Debbie replying: “Definitely adults, only one size and it’s huge!”

“My son wants one, he’s also one of the weirdos that bought the primark/Greggs stuff (only to wear indoors),” a third commented.

“We did the same for my son last year when primark did the Greggs stuff, he has Gregg’s pyjamas, socks the lot!” someone else laughed.

“For secret santa?” another wrote, tagging their friend.

“Hope I get u in secret santa!” someone else joked.

“I love it! I’d wear it if I had 1!” another commented.

“I had the Xmas jumper 1 year for work,” someone else said.

“My daughter works in a tesco express, she said she’d wear one in work cos she’s always cold,” another wrote.

“My son has the socks, and he is getting the T-shirt for his birthday, I think I need one of these for his birthday too,” someone else laughed.

“I saw this other day and found it hilarious!! Actually considering getting my 12 year old it,” another said.
