She explained she was able to save lots of money by picking up table plates for only $6.99 each.
Liz (@lizlikespink0) shared the advice with over 30,000 TikTok followers.
“I have learned one thing about Thanksgiving entertaining, if you do not buy your stuff early, it will be gone,” she said.
“Don’t wait a week or two before Thanksgiving and decide ‘Oh, I need a tablecloth,’ or ‘Oh, I need some cute little turkey plates,’ it will be gone for sure,” she added.
Instead of waiting last minute, Liz popped into Home Goods and found decor that spoke to her.
She fell in love with a set of dinner plates decorated with two moose relaxing in the woods but was even more impressed with the price.
“They’re $6.99 each, they’re heavy, they’re nice quality, I like the way they kind of mimic a true old brown transferware plate, and the acorn detail is adorable,” she said.
The interior designer offered some advice to better incorporate the unique plates for the Thanksgiving season: “When you layer these with some plates, this will make for a great fall plate,” she said.
Next, she picked up a tablecloth to go with the plate settings: “An orange is great if you want to go deeper and richer, one word to tell is you must buy early,” she stressed.
“If you wait before right before Thanksgiving or right before Christmas, you’ll be stuck with the Thanksgiving leftovers.”
People agreed with her advice and offered their own tips for the best time to get a good deal.
“Besides Home Goods try Tuesday Morning store they have lots of high-end stuff for great buys,” suggested a commenter.
Others were convinced thanks to her argument: “I definitely want a couple of those plates!” said a viewer.
