These super shapers “suck the gut in” and have a feature that every woman craves.
It comes in a multitude of colors and is the current number one best seller in women’s yoga leggings on the site.
The Gym People’s thick high-waisted yoga pants have received over 63,000 ratings so far.
Of those, a whopping 69% gave it a 5-star rating.
But it was the presence of one special feature that has gained special attention.
Its omission from women’s clothing has been debated by cultural historians for decades.
The pocket, and plenty of them, has been celebrated by the buyers of these leggings.
Commenters rushed to share their experience of these pocket rockets from Amazon.
“Regardless of my expanding hips, thighs and gut, the fit is fabulous! My gut is sucked in and the high waist is super Post-menopause friendly,” said one thrilled purchaser.
She continued: “And these have pockets!! Holy Cannoli! Pockets! When I go back for my second cataract surgery, I can slide my insurance cards and ID in one pocket and my cell phone in the other! This is epic.”
Another described her experience as a “love story.”
“From the moment I put them on, I felt like I was one step closer to becoming a fitness guru. I mean, who wouldn’t be, right?
“These yoga pants have got my midsection under control, and it’s a beautiful thing.”
She hadn’t finished yet: “The pockets! Oh, the pockets! I can finally carry my phone, keys, and a snack (hey, post-workout munchies are real) without a backpack.
“And they’re deep enough that I’m not worried about my phone going on an adventure without me.”
Never has the pocket had so much attention.
This reviewer was breathless in her praise.
“I love these yoga pants! They also have pockets!!! I want more of these pants, maybe in all different colors! I can live in these. Great fitting pants finally.”
It was a similar reaction from this shopper.
“These are some of the best leggings I’ve ever owned. The pockets are deep enough to hold my phone, which my other leggings with pockets don’t have.
“Stop browsing leggings and buy these,” she urged others.
The presence – or not – of pockets in women’s clothing has been a hot topic of debate in recent years.
Molly Cohen, from the Maryland Center for History and Culture, wrote about the ongoing evolution of the feature.
She said: “Pockets in the 20th century disappeared and reappeared as quickly as fashion evolved.
“Women’s trousers fluctuated in fit and style so frequently that pockets often interfered with these cuts.
“It was the advent of the cell phone and its popularity in society that truly pushed pockets to become a more standard feature for women’s wear.”
Even today, the presence of a pocket can be considered radical in women’s wear.
Molly continued: “Women who don red carpet attire complete with pockets are often trailblazers in the entertainment industry for breaking the strict couture rules that have been set down, enforced, and followed for decades.”
