Cops have confirmed a person was hit by a lorry on the motorway in Somerset today.
The M5 motorway was closed in both directions at Junction 25 after the incident reported shortly after 12noon, with drivers advised to avoid the area,
It reopened shortly after 2.30pm, National Highways confirmed.
But officials warned of hour-long delays northbound and 80-minute waits southbound.
