Hunter Valley wedding bus crash victims and survivors to be honoured at public memorial service

Occasional Digest - a story for you

NSW Premier Chris Minns will lead a community memorial service this morning at Singleton in the Hunter Valley to honour the victims and survivors of the June wedding bus crash tragedy.

The service, announced last month by the NSW government in conjunction with Singleton and Cessnock councils, comes 132 days after the crash

Ten people were killed and dozens injured when the bus, travelling from a vineyard wedding, rolled at a roundabout near Greta.

Mr Minns will attend, with his office saying the service will provide “an opportunity to acknowledge and bring together those affected by the accident”.

The lives of those lost, their families, survivors, first responders and emergency services will be honoured.

Pastoral care will be provided at the service, and a free community barbecue will be held by the Singleton and Cessnock Rotary clubs afterward.

The memorial will begin at 11am AEDT.

More to come.
