Collecting Cars is selling off a collection of parts for the iconic supercar for just a fraction of the price.

The components are from a 2006 Veyron model, which was worth £950,000 at the time.

With inflation, that works out to £1.6 million in today’s money.

Bidders can pick up the distinctive front grille, door panels and boot in one lot, while a set of tyres and wheels is included in the other.

A new set of Buggati wheels and tyres can reportedly cost around £82,000 today.

The parts on offer are sufficient to form the shape of the Veyron, the first Bugatti model imported to the UK.

However, there is a major catch in that there are not enough to properly build the beloved motor.

Only its distinctive silhouette can be formed when they are laid out together.

Moreover, even if you are a multi-millionaire looking for some spare parts for your 267mph daily drive, not all of these can be used.

The manufacturer recommends changing the wheels regularly as they are partially glued to the tyres with a special adhesive designed to withstand the force generated by the 1,000-horsepower WR16 engine.

This can wear away over time so, unless it is expensively reapplied, these wheels are purely decorative and should not be driven on.

Ed Callow from Collecting Cars said: “If they are considered ‘ornaments’ now, then I would still expect them to fetch as much as £10,000 for the set.

“It is incredibly hard to put a value on the body parts, as I am not aware of any other such set of panels ever being offered on the open market.

“You could well imagine a Bugatti owner or specialist realising the value in acquiring some original, undamaged parts like this.”

It comes after a collection of luxury Ferraris, including an ultra-rare Spider model, was put up for auction.

Meanwhile, petrolheads have a chance to get their hands on David Beckham’s Lamborghini – but you may have to be a Galactico to afford it.
