DRIVERS have been left stunned after realising what a mystery button on their car means.

Posing the question on Reddit, one motorist wondered what the strange button actually did.

He shared with other baffled social media users how he had a button called CAT/FOLDER.

But one savvy driver revealed that it stood for Category/Folder, a feature that allows you to select from various music categories.

Category is for xm radio while folder is for connected device and USB.

It is part of the entertainment system, in MP3 mode.

Others on TikTok and other sites were also left baffled by the meaning with one showing his motor’s dashboard with the words CAT/FOLD.

Users were quick to share their opinions in the comments section of the original post.

One joked: “For the orderly storage of all your cats, of course. I hate when mine are all crumpled after a long car journey!”

“I told my kids the CAT button releases a cat from the dashboard,” quipped another.

“Weird. My cat’s pretty good at folding himself,” chimed a third.

It comes after another TikToker explained a hidden feature on some cars that make them perfect for summer.

We previously told how swathes of drivers had no idea what the function of a blind spot button was.

Motorists also came across a mode that helps save hundreds on fuel – but has major downsides.

Another hidden button can unlock your boot from the front seat.

All you have to do is open the glovebox and find a row of three buttons on the upper right-hand side.

These bear the same symbols as on the key fob.

The buttons on the left and right allow you to lock the boot from the driver’s seat.

Meanwhile, a driver was left furious as selfish motorists snapped up parent-and-child spots at the local supermarket.
