She said patience is key during renovations.
TikToker Kristina Evans (@kristinanevans) turned her Oklahoma house into a dream home with a few Amazon buys and some elbow grease.
Though it was hard work, she said it was totally worth it.
“A lot can change in a year,” she began in the clip.
“Be patient with your DIY home renovations.”
Kristina filmed her living room when they first began to work on it.
The cream walls were drab and dull, the fireplace barely put together, the floors taped up, and the furniture still not complete.
When the frame changed, however, the space was transformed.
“This is exactly one year later.”
The plain walls now held modern black bookcases, the floors were refinished to a darker brown, the fire place grey and moody, and the furniture crisp and cozy.
She had two swivel chairs with an antique side table between them, a large olive tree on the coffee table, and sculptural pieces and photographs adorning the space.
The best part is, much of her décor was from Amazon, including her $37 curtains and the $32 curtain rod, large $75 mirror, and $35 moody brown candles.
She wanted to remind her viewers that the hard work pays off.
“I know when you’re deep into a project it feels like it will never get finished and is overwhelming.
“But it is worth it. Trust the process.”
Viewers admired her taste and thanked her for the reassurance.
“Omg I LOVE THIS,” one praised.
“I’m four months into mine and feeling like I’m not getting anywhere. I definitely needed this,” added another.
