She said she gets a lot of judgemental comments from strangers online but she doesn’t care.
Courtney (@courtandnate) shared the video with over 2.5 million TikTok followers.
The self-proclaimed van dweller explained her thoughts on social media in the vlog.
“It’s been raining non-stop for the past week and because of that, we’ve been spending most of our time in parking lots,” she shared.
“Lately I haven’t felt like making these videos, I don’t know if it’s because I’m alone and I have to set up my tripod or if it’s because I don’t care about strangers’ opinions,” she said.
“I have a lot of conflicting feelings about social media and my place in it, these videos will never be a fully accurate portrayal of my day because they’re sixty seconds long.”
Although the content creator is aware that social media is useful, it will be unable to capture what real life is like.
“My highest highs and lowest lows will never make it to the internet because that is what I reserve for real life which I believe happens offline,” she said.
In the meantime, the content creator has made her peace with how she’s perceived: “I just have to learn to be okay with the fact that people will make assumptions about me based on what I do share.”
Her followers took to the comments to share their thoughts on her candidness.
“I appreciate how authentic you always are, with what you share and how you share it,” said one commenter.
“I love you!!!! You do what you need to do for you!! You can never make everyone happy so make yourself happy!!!!” said another.
“People will always find something to pick apart regardless of how authentic and real you are just be you and share what you want,” encouraged a third.
