Ronnie O'Sullivan of England reacts in the third round match against Pang Junxu of China
O’Sullivan won the Shanghai Masters in September

Ronnie O’Sullivan beat China’s Pang Junxu and Judd Trump thrashed Matthew Selt as the pair progressed to the fourth round of the Wuhan Open.

World number one O’Sullivan came from behind twice before snatching a 5-4 victory.

Trump, who won the English Open on Sunday, demolished Selt 5-0.

“I didn’t sleep great last night, but it helps when you’ve just won an event and you are excited to play with a little bit more confidence,” he said.

The 2019 world champion told the World Snooker Tour website: “It is nice to be back travelling again. I’ve not had too much time to look around but the crowds have been fantastic and there is great support here.”

Judd will play fellow Englishman Barry Hawkins in the last 16, while O’Sullivan will face another Chinese opponent in Sijun Yuan.

Elsewhere, Mark Allen beat Si Jiahui 5-4, Stephen Maguire won 5-1 against Zihao Xing and Ali Carter edged out Stuart Bingham 5-4.
