He put messages into her coat pocket while she danced with friends in a nightclub in London’s West End.

Lupeikis tracked the Sex Education star to her home in Hertfordshire and started leaving flowers in her garden, before hammering on her door and telling her he had been following her because he was “in love”.

The 25-year-old said the ordeal had left her feeling anxious, unable to sleep and made her feel unsafe in her own home, which she was now considering selling.

Lupeikis, who was born in Lithuania but now living in London was jailed last week for 16 months and given a restraining order banning him from contacting Mimi and entering the county of Hertfordshire.

St Albans Crown Court heard on Friday that Mimi had first met Lupeikis on March 3 this year when he approached her in a club in London’s Park Lane while she was out celebrating a friend’s birthday.

The musician who uses the stage name ‘Cheeky Tongue’ had put his hand on her back and asked for her phone number, but she declined, telling him she had a boyfriend, reports the Mail.

Mimi, who played Cindy Williams in the BBC soap and is the character Ruby Matthews in the Netflix comedy Sex Education, then went back to dance with her pals.

But Lupeikis was spotted rummaging in her jacket and he was removed from the bar.

Mimi found four business cards inside her jack with the words “We will meet again” and “I am going to take you on a date” written on them, Judge Recorder Ian Stern told the hearing.

The judge told Lupeikis: “She disposed of these and it should have been clear then that she did not want to have anything to do with you.”

Nearly four months later, on the morning of June 24, Mimi discovered a bouquet of white flowers by a bush in her garden.

In the evening of the same day, she heard a knock on her door and when she looked out she recognised Lupeikis as the man from the club.

He was holding another bunch of flowers and told her he had seen her walking in a nearby forest and a London bar.

Lupeikis told her: “I have been to your address a few times now, and I really like you.”

When he was asked to leave, he said: “I will leave but it’s not that I am afraid of your boyfriend.”

He left the flowers behind which contained a card that said: “Mimi, I love you.”

She then called the police who found Lupeikis nearby and arrested him.

While being interviewed he admitted stalking the star and visiting her home on seven occasions.

Prosecuting, Richard Mandel said Mimi was anxious because Lupeikis knew where she lived.

She said in her impact statement, she said his actions and left her thinking about moving.

Mimi added: “I have started just driving around in order to avoid being home alone.”

Defending, Huda Musa said her client had “come to the realisation that his behaviour was beyond inappropriate and beyond obsessive.”
