The gunmen involved in yesterday’s deadly shooting at a shopping centre in Melbourne’s north remain on the run, as police investigate whether the discovery of a second burnt-out car is linked to the crime.
Homicide detectives are treating the shooting in a car park at the Craigieburn Central Shopping Centre as a targeted attack.
Police said a 27-year-old Craigieburn man was killed and a 28-year-old Hadfield man was seriously injured, after multiple shots were fired into the car they were sitting in just before 3pm on Saturday.
The injured man remains in hospital in a serious condition.
Police believe four males were in a black Range Rover Sport that fled the scene, and was later found burnt out 13 kilometres away in Westmeadows.
Police are investigating whether a second car torched in a reserve at Reservoir on Saturday night is also linked to the shooting.
More to come.
