The Instagrammer offered her followers alternative looks that can help elevate an outfit.
In a post on The Bird Broadcast (@birdbroadcast), fashion influencer Natalia Denise (@nataliaadenise) explained “how to make any outfit look expensive.”
For her first tip, she recommended steering clear of loose-fitting T-shirts.
She told viewers: “Avoid tops that are oversized and shapeless and have really long necklines and have a lot of excess fabric.
“Opt instead for T-shirts that have a higher crewneck, longer sleeves, and are made out of pure cotton.”
Natalia explained that even an oversized look needs to offer some structure.
For her next suggestion, she told her followers to avoid skinny jeans, which she called a “big no-no.”
“They’re so unflattering and cheapen any outfit, especially when you add distressing,” Natalia told viewers.
Instead, she advised her audience to choose “straight-leg denim that will create the illusion of longer leaner lines.”
Natalia explained: “You want to look for jeans that are made out of pure cotton, you want the hem to end right at the ankle.
“You still want them to be form-fitting but not overly tight, and no distressing.”
Finally, she warned her followers against pre-scrunched and pre-knotted tops.
Natalia explained: “Instead, choose classic silhouettes that are made out of high-quality materials that fit perfectly.
“That way you have the flexibility to wear them to your liking, you can tuck them, cuff them, or fold them and you’re not tied to any specific style.”
Instagram users were divided on the fashion advice, pointing out the lack of size inclusivity in the recommendations.
“Clicked off as soon as I heard stretchy jeans are a no-no. Goodbye Miss Size Two,” wrote one unimpressed viewer.
Another follower said: “These clothes only look good on the models she’s showing. Hahahahha skinny jeans look amazing on women with curves.”
“Unfortunately if I wear what you are suggesting with my body type, I’d look like a trash bag,” commented a third person.
On the other hand, some Instagram users liked the style suggestions.
“Thank you. Every woman needs to hear you,” said one of Natalia’s followers.
Another person also agreed, writing: “I thought this was clear without having to say that.”
