Show hosts Tess Daly, 54, and Claudia Winkleman, 51, then strutted onto the dancefloor as they kicked off proceedings by welcoming the year’s stars to the stage.
However, for those watching at home, they were left immediately distracted by Tess’s trousers.
The blonde beauty opted for a pair of skintight latex trousers but it seemed that the choice of attire did not go down too well with fans.
Commenting on the star’s outfit at home, one fan even compared the trousers to ‘bin bags’ in a scathing message.
Writing on X, formerly Twitter, one said: “Big bag trousers Tess.”
Another added: “WTF is Tess wearing?”
A third penned: “Did they lose Tess’ outfit and have to fashion something from the cleaning cupboard.”
Before a fourth wrote: “Tess has come straight from fly fishing and still has her waders on.”
