Occasional Digest - a story for you

MY Mum, Your Dad’s widower Roger Hawes has successfully overcome his grief to find love on TV – and is still dating gorgeous blonde Janey.

The postman, 59, won the heart of the nation as he told how his wife of 31 years had died of cancer 18 months before filming.

But My Mum, Your Dad – hosted by Davina McCall – has proven successful and Roger’s love match with singer Janey has stayed the distance after filming wrapped.

The lovebirds posted on social media, confirming The Sun’s story that they are still together months after filming at the Sussex mansion ended.

Janey posted online confirming the update, writing: “What an amazing journey… Saturday mornings just got a whole lot better.”

Fans erupted when Roger also shared a series of gorgeous selfies of his summer of love.

He wrote: “It’s been hard to keep it a secret but the wait is finally over – me and the beautiful @janeybombshell are still going strong and have never been better since leaving My Mum, Your Dad. We couldn’t be happier together.”

It might come as a surprise to viewers as he spent much of the first episodes in pieces over the loss of his wife to cancer 18 months ago.

He told The Sun that his wife Joanne taught him how to love.

But he fell for Janey and had Britain in raptures as they enjoyed a steamy first kiss.

Now she and her son William have become part of Roger and daughter Jess’ big family.

Elsewhere PE teacher Elliott and education worker Sharon have also stuck together.

They also faced their hurdles as Sharon struggled to let down her walls, built through past hurt.

But the gorgeous couple have proven to be strong on the outside – with his son Zach and her daughter Tia both chuffed.

Elliot took to his Instagram as the finale aired, sharing a photo of the cast with the caption: “What a blast”.

Sharon also shared a snap of her and Elliot from the finale, adding: “She smiles… what a journey.”

Fans are waiting to hear how Natalie and Paul have fared plus any other couples that may have found a flame after leaving the pressure of the retreat.

It comes after Davina told The Sun she was thrilled the show had worked, after she “manifested” the format for older daters.

She said: “I want to present this show for the rest of my life!

“I love watching love blossom, and it blossomed very organically and very slowly and sweetly.

“I’ve been sent photographs of couples since! I’m not going to tell you how many. But there’s a few.
