The Red Devils suffered a 3-1 defeat to Brighton at Old Trafford on Saturday, leaving them 13th in the table.
It was their fourth successive loss to the Seagulls, with Roberto De Zerbi‘s side scoring a total of 10 goals compared to United’s two.
Former Red Devil Danny Welbeck opened the scoring for Brighton at Old Trafford during the first half, with Pascal Groß and summer signing Joao Pedro both adding to the goal tally in the second half.
Hannibal Mejbri got one back for the Red Devils in the 73rd minute, but it was only a consolation.
Despite United’s poor start to the season, Erik ten Hag has assured fans that the club is not in crisis.
He said: “We must stick together and stick to the plan and the rules and we will turn this around.
“It bothers me, but I have to see the way we play. It’s about character, we have to see how strong we are and how the team sticks together.
“Players standing up and showing character because in all the games, especially the game today (Saturday) and against Arsenal and Forest, we have seen we can play well and create chances.
“But we also have some improvements to make and we have to step up.”

Christian Eriksen was also left disappointed with the defeat amid Man Utd’s poor run of form.
He said: “It is a heavy one. We have to look at ourselves.
“We changed some things but we are disappointed. In the first half we had a lot of moments, had good control.
“They had a lot of possession but not many chances.
“They then score with their first chance and the system they play they keep the ball a lot and we had to chase it down. But we still had chances to get back into the game.”
