A national president of the Lone Wolf bikie gang has been arrested, along with two other senior members, as police dismantle an alleged drug supply operation.
Key points:
- The three men, all aged 41, are allegedly senior members of the Lone Wolf bikie gang
- NSW Police said 300 kilograms of ice with a street value of more than $151 million was seized
- The men are in custody and will face court in coming weeks
NSW Police Raptor Squad officers investigating the supply and manufacturing of methylamphetamine, known as ice, raided three homes across Sydney’s west this week, allegedly seizing drugs, knuckle dusters and ammunition.
In St Clair on Friday, a 41-year-old man was arrested, who police allege was one of four national presidents of the Lone Wolf Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG).
He was charged with several serious offences, including knowingly directing the activities of a criminal group and manufacturing a large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug.
NSW Police Detective Superintendent Andrew Koutsoufis said the strike force had seized more than 300 kilograms of ice with a street value of in excess of $151 million.
“It’s seized an enormous amount of drugs that were potentially hitting the streets,” he said.
“This is an outstanding result for Raptor Squad, the police and the community in general. The community is a better place for the drugs being off the streets.”
Two meth labs were dismantled in the course of the investigation.
Officers raided the home of another alleged senior member of the OMCG in Hebersham on Tuesday morning, arresting a 41-year-old man.
Police will allege he was involved in disposing of a car involved in a shooting at Connells Point in July last year, when a nine-year-old girl was seriously injured.
He’s also been charged with participating in a criminal group.
Earlier that day, another home in Hebersham was raided where police arrested a 41-year-old-man, who they allege was also a senior member of the OMCG.
He’s also been charged over the alleged manufacture and supply of ice, along with three counts of possessing a prohibited drug.
Superintendent Koutsoufis said the bikie gang had been on their “radar all the time”.
“We will allege that two males arrested over last week both were senior ranking members, one was chapter president, the other national sergeant-of-arms.
“We have completely dismantled this criminal syndicate.”
All three men remain in custody and will face court in the coming weeks.
