JADON SANCHO has refused to apologise to Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag following his Twitter outburst according to reports.

Sancho and his manager Ten Hag have been in a war of words since the England star claimed he was being used as a scapegoat after ten Hag left him out of the matchday squad for United’s 3-1 loss to Arsenal.

Elsewhere, there is growing hope that former Fiorentina star Sofyan Arabat will make his United debut this Saturday against Brighton.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils are eyeing up a move for Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, according to reports.

    The Telegraph report that Jadon Sancho has refused to back down on his comments concerning Erik Ten Hag.

    The winger said he was made a “scapegoat” by Ten Hag after being left out of the squad for their 3-1 defeat to Arsenal.

    Erik Ten Hag demanded that the winger apologise ahead of the possibility of bringing him back into the fold.

    But at showdown talks, Sancho refused to apologise for his comments and is refusing to backdown.

    The winger will now train alone until the situation is either resolved or he is sold in January.

    Erik Ten Hag has the full backing of the United board over his Jadon Sancho stance.

    The Daily Mail report that Ten Hag demanded an apology from Sancho during their crunch talks this week.

    Sancho, however, refused to back down and has now been made to train on his own by the club.

    There is growing hope that Sofyan Amrabat will make his United debut on Saturday against Brighton.

    United found an issue with Amrabat’s back during his medical but it was not thought to be a significant enough issue to affect the signing.

    The Daily Mail report that it was the intervention of sporting director John Murtough that led to the crisis talks between Jadon Sancho and Erik Ten Hag.

    Ten Hag wanted Sancho to apologise to him for his social media comments that saw him say he had been made a “scapegoat” for the problems at the club.

    But Sancho refused to back down and apologise for his comments during the meeting.

    That’s resulted in Sancho being made to train on his own until a resolution is found – likely a sale in January.

    United midfielder Scott McTominay has posted to his Instagram in support of Harry Maguire.

    The two met during England’s 3-1 friendly victory over Scotland on Tuesday evening.

    Maguire scored an own goal during the game and was met with abuse from both sets of fans.

    The post was captioned with a fist emoji and a red heart.

  • Amrabat may play against Brighton

    The Telegraph report that there is rising hope in the United camp that Sofyan Amrabat will play a part in Saturday’s game against Brighton.

    A scan during the midfielder’s United medical uncovered a back problem which raised questions over his fitness.

    He was then forced to pull out of Morocco’s international squad.

    But Amrabat is now nearing a return and could play a part against Brighton on Saturday.

    The Athletic report that Jadon Sancho’s exile from the United squad came after he refused to apologise to Erik Ten Hag following his online comments.

    The winger complained he had been made a “scapegoat” by the manager after being left out of The Red Devils’ 3-1 defeat to Arsenal.

    United released a statement earlier today saying: “Jadon Sancho will remain on a personal training programme away from the first-team group — pending resolution of a squad discipline issue”

    Southgate apparently plans to look at John Stones next to Marc Guehi during the next round of international fixtures as a contingency if Maguire does not find his way back into United’s first XI.

    Christian Eriksen has opened up about playing as a number eight rather than as a more attacking ten.

    The midfielder made a name for himself in the more attacking role during his time at Spurs from 2013 until 2020.

    But Ten Hag has relied on him more as a typical central midfielder during his time at United.

    Eriksen said: “It came naturally. It started when I went to Italy, where Conte made me play a little lower down. Ultimately that’s the position I took and I enjoyed it. When I came here [to United], it was the same.”

    This report states that Sancho “held discussions with United officials as the club look to draw a line under the public spat”.

    And both Arnold and Murtough are “taking an active role in trying to de-escalate tensions” between player and manager.

    Martial is believed to have arrived too early for training on Thursday.

    The ace rocked up to Carrington for a morning session.

    Lisandro Martinez is an injury doubt for Man United’s game against Brighton.

    The defender limped off in the 3-1 defeat to Arsenal with a foot injury.

    And he did not feature at all for Argentina during the international break.

    Raphael Varane and Luke Shaw are already out, so Harry Maguire or Jonny Evans could be set to start alongside Victor Lindelof on Saturday.
