Crunching sounds between first gear and reverse can also be warning signs your clutch is failing.

This suggests the clutch is not disengaging properly.

But the most commonly reported sign of a failing clutch is when it appears underpowered.

This is known as clutch slip and is a huge giveaway your clutch it bust.

He explained: “What happens is the engine revs are going up when you accelerate.

“But the vehicle itself doesn’t actually accelerate.”

At this point, take your motor to your local garage and get it replaced.
