Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho will train away from the first team until issues between the player and manager Erik ten Hag are resolved, the club has confirmed.
United said in a statement: “Jadon Sancho will remain on a personal training programme away from the first team group pending resolution of a squad discipline issue.”
This follows Ten Hag’s revelation that Sancho had been left out of his squad for the Premier League defeat at Arsenal earlier this month because the winger’s training performances were not up to the level required.
Sancho countered with his own statement on social media, saying he rejected the Dutchman’s claim and felt he was being made a scapegoat.
The news comes in a week where another United forward, Antony, also stepped away from first-team duties amid domestic abuse allegations made by his former partner.
