ENOUGH food to feed a million people for a year has been destroyed by Russian missile attacks on ports, ships and warehouses, it is claimed.

The UK Foreign Office said 280,000 tons of grain have been blasted in three months in 26 separate strikes on Ukraine.

It came as North Korea’s despot Kim Jong Un boarded his armoured train bound for Russia today at the invitation of the country’s President Vladimir Putin to swap guns for food.

The two isolated leaders, who last met in 2019, are “actively advancing” their arms deals, the US has warned.

Foreign Secretary James Cleverly slammed “desperate” Putin for “hurting the rest of the world”.

He also accused him of trying to sink a civilian cargo ship with cruise missiles, which were shot down by Ukraine’s air defences.

Mr Cleverly said: “Putin is trying to win a war he will not win, and these attacks show just how desperate he is.”

The Foreign Office said Russia had “systematically targeted Ukrainian port and civilian infrastructure” since Putin ditched a deal to allow grain exports.

Before Russia launched its invasion, Ukraine was feeding 400million people worldwide, the Foreign Office said.
