The body of a second Canberra fisherman has been found at Lake Eucumbene in the NSW Snowy Mountains after an extensive search spanning four days.

A multi-agency search was launched in the early hours of Thursday morning after the two Canberra men, both aged 73, failed to return from a fishing day-trip to the lake near Adaminaby on Wednesday.

Police Inspector Keith Price said on Thursday that the men were “experienced in fishing in the area” and it was unclear how they ended up in the water.

A report on the fishermen’s deaths will be prepared for the coroner.
