A 14-year-old boy is fighting for life after being forced into a car in the Melbourne suburb of Glen Huntly Monday afternoon. 

Victoria Police investigators were told that the boy was confronted by unknown offenders in a dark grey Volkswagen Tiguan on Neerim Road at about 3:35pm.

The boy was seriously injured when he came out of the moving car near the intersection of Grange Road.

He has been taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition. 

Police are investigating whether there are any links to an armed robbery that occurred at nearby Kambrook Road, Caulfield.

About 10 minutes before the boy was forced into the car, four teenagers were robbed by two unknown offenders armed with machetes.
