The 63-year-old has been left bed ridden all week after falling ill.
Ruth – who is married Eamonn Holmes – has been away from her usual hosting duties on ITV’s lunchtime show, after being struck with a mystery illness.
But taking to Instagram, the TV star revealed that she has now developed a chest infection.
She told fans: “My ‘lurgy’ is actually a chest infection! So here I am on antibiotics and a steam vaporiser twice a day!”
Alongside the post, she shared a short clip of the vaporiser in action, before another shortly after showed a box of lemon, ginger leaf and manuka tea with Ruth writing: ‘”I’m trying everything!”
Meanwhile, earlier in the week Ruth told fans that she “had the lurgy”, and was doing her best to get better.
She said: “So today I’m going again with the hot toddy… someone’s told me to add Tumeric (which I don’t like much!).
“Any other remedies gratefully received!”
After making her hot drink, the telly star shared a video of pouring the liquid into a cup.
“Right… back to bed!,” Ruth confessed.
She then cuddled up next to her pooch in bed.
Ruth captioned the post: “My sick bed companion!”

The exceptions to this include How the Other Half Lives for Channel 5 which she presented with her husband Eamonn and her own QVC segment titled Ruth Langsford‘s Fashion Edit.
She is also known for previously hosting This Morning on a Friday, along with her husband.
However, the pair left in 2020 when they were replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.
