Frightening footage shows the young lad being shamelessly kicked from the great height at an Austrian pool earlier this month.
Attempts had been made to coax the scared swimmer down by two other lifeguards, according to reports.
But the third staff member, wearing black shorts and white t-shirt, was not so patient.
He can be seen in the video, published by the German publication Bild, holding onto the railings and effortlessly shoving the youngster.
The terrified boy then plummets off the 10meter drop into water below.
It has been reported the shocking incident sparked an internal investigation within the company.
Steyrer Stadtbades, the authority in charge of the swimming pool, confirmed the man in question was a lifeguard.
He has since been fired, but will still be allowed to work at different sites owned by the pool company.
An SBS spokesperson said: “SBS will do everything they can so that the Steyrer, and the Steyrer in the future can bring an enjoyable and comfortable time at Steyrer Stadtbad.
“’A lifeguard’s job is to ensure the safety of customers. Therefore it is very regrettable that the lifeguard was involved with the fall.
“We are doing all we can to be clear of the circumstances.”
