Fashion psychologist Dr Carolyn Mair explains: “When we’re in a long-term relationship, we become more attuned to each other’s preferences.
“When we’re starting a new romantic relationship, we often want to make a positive impression.
“Because what we wear is a form of visual communication, we can communicate that our personality, style, and values align with our partner’s preferences.
“When we understand their preferences, and dress accordingly, we’re more likely to receive compliments from them, making us feel validated and more secure in the relationship.”

Even her dressed-down looks would be black dungarees or jeans with a simple, plain T-shirt.
The pair would regularly dress to match with all-dark outfits, be it dashing out for dinner or at a showbiz party together.
