The finalists of the series were welcomed by host Maya Jama as they entered the studio but the audience stopped clapping when winners Jess Harding and Sammy Root were announced.
Many couldn’t help but notice the awkward moment and took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to see if anyone else noticed it.
One user said: “The way it went silent from the audience after Maya said Jess and Sammy.”
A second wrote: “The studio audience is very silent towards Jess and Sammy.”
“Sorry but did y’all hear the way the audience stopped clapping when Jess and Sammy came,” a third penned.
It comes after Love Island fans claimed the show is ‘fixed’ after Sammy and Jess won over favourites Whitney Adebayo and Lochan Nowacki, who finished second.
The couple were previously voted the least compatible by their fellow islanders but in a twist of events finished first place winning the 50k cash prize.
Although viewers were left questioning the final result, the voting percentages later revealed that Jess and Sammy received the majority of the vote with 34.57 per cent.
Whitney and Lochan received 26.85 per cent.
They were closely followed by Ella Thomas and Ty Hyde who got 24.21 per cent, and in fourth place were Molly Marsh and Zachariah Noble with 14.37 per cent.
Just days before the final Whitney and Lochan were favourites to be crowned Love Island 2023 champions.
