The footballer, 22, sat Abi down after days of indecision to finally call their time on their partnership.
He explained: “I see how you are towards Mitch and I don’t want us to be that. I don’t want you to hate me for leading you on.
You told me there wasn’t feelings involved last night but there will come a point where you feel that there is.
Abi countered that she “wasn’t going to cry” if they were done, but claimed she was interested in still getting to know him.
“I just don’t feel the interest from you,” she added.
“I just feel that I am not at the stage of really liking you yet,” Scott said. “That’s just me being honest about it.”
Viewers were convinced, however, that there was something Scott wasn’t telling Abi: they think he still has feelings for Catherine.
One wrote on twitter: “We all know scott misses catherine BADDD.”
A second agreed: “Its written in the stars Scott is coming home to Catherine.”
A third added: “Scott just wants his babe Catherine back. And I absolutely hear it.”
A fourth chimed in: “Catherine really fumbled with Scott. He loved her.”
And a fifth said: “Scott & Catherine closer to being back together.”
Scott has now left the villa alongside Abi after the pair found themselves in the bottom three after the public vote.
They were joined in the bottom by Molly and Zach and Ella B and Mitch.
It was then down to the other islanders to choose who to send home.
And in another twist, Molly got a text informing the villa that they would be voting for the least compatible couples when they head on their final dates.
The couple with the most votes will be at risk of going home before Monday’s live final.
