Another GOP presidential candidate is offering donors $20 gift cards

“Bidenomics is making the American Dream unaffordable, so I asked, ‘how can I help,’ and you answered,” Suarez tweeted. “I’m offering EVERY AMERICAN a $20 Bidenomics Relief Card when you give just $1 to help me qualify for the debate stage.”

The Miami mayor previously offered supporters a chance to join a raffle for tickets to see soccer star Lionel Messi’s first game with the Florida team Inter Miami, and a super PAC supporting him — the SOS America PAC — is also giving donors the chance to win one year of free college tuition.

Now, Suarez is offering cash.

It’s not a new tactic among the GOP long shots. North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum offered 50,000 donors the same deal in June, branding the small-donor grab as an effort to “help ease the burden of Bidenflation.”

It seems to have worked for Burgum, who officially hit the RNC’s requirements for the debate stage Monday after racking up the 40,000 necessary donors last week.

It was an expensive — and legally questionable — move by Burgum, a wealthy businessman who is largely self-funding his White House bid.

Suarez, who launched his campaign in June, has raised $945,450.55 for his campaign, according to data from the Federal Election Commission. He ended the second quarter with $898,850.30 in his campaign coffers.

According to his tweet, Suarez’s campaign is offering the $20 gift cards to “every American.” His campaign did not immediately respond to an inquiry about how many donors would receive the cards.
