The second episode of the drama series Becoming Elizabeth was shown on the commercial broadcaster on Saturday night.
However, fans were left fuming after the network suffered a major technical error.
Before the show, usually a community announcer takes to the airwaves as they say what is coming next.
One of the new Channel 4 idents was shown which involved trucks moving boxes around in a warehouse in the shape of the logo of the public service broadcaster.
The announcer started off her presenting link as usual as she said: “The intrigue of The Tudor’s…”
However, a louder voice of another announcer suddenly burst onto the airwaves at the same time.
The second speaker interjected as she said: “That may offend as well as well as sexual scenes. It’s becoming Elizabeth now on Channel 4.”
After she finished, viewers then heard the first voice speak again as she continued: “Princess Elizabeth must choose her allies wisely, with strong and discriminatory language that may offend.”
“As well as sexual scenes, it’s becoming Elizabeth”.
Viewers were left fuming at the error as they struggled to hear the announcement whilst the two voices seemingly drowned each other out.
An apparent fan with apparent knowledge of the sound system explained: “One of the continuity announcements was probably a backup that Red Bee played out in error.”
Another commented: “And it seems one was talking over the other announcer as well… how rude 🤣🤣🤣.”
“How the heck does that happen?”, asked a third.
Meanwhile, a fourth sarcastically posted a GIF of a cartoon Spiderman meeting and pointing at another Spiderman.
And a fifth joked: “Maybe they layered it intentionally to match the ident.”
