But it wasn’t until Ann got home and had a closer look at what was in the box that she realised she’d hit the jackpot.
And while she’d paid £80 for the box and its contents, she could make an incredible £600 just by selling one of the watches.
The watch in question was a silver and white number, with Christian Dior written on the strap.
“So this is one of the items I found in the box,” she said in the TikTok.
“The guy I bought this box and all the watches from said they were all scrap.
“However, this doesn’t look… I mean, the strap is worn out but I’m pretty sure that these are diamonds and this does not look like scrap to me.
“I’m going to go and get it checked out.”
Ann added that while there were a few other watches she was interested in in the box, the Dior one had instantly caught her eye.
She later took to the comments to write: “I’ve had the watch checked and it’s 100% real.”
“I can’t believe what I found,” Ann captioned the video.
People quickly commented on the video, with one writing: “That’s a real Dior. Nice find!”
“Wow the Dior watch is selling for nearly £600 !!!” another added.
As a third simply wrote: “WOAH!”
