Biden trolls Marjorie Taylor Greene in tweet: ‘I approve this message’

WASHINGTON − Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., delivered a passionate speech to a crowd of young conservatives on Saturday comparing President Joe Biden’s policy accomplishments to former President Lyndon B. Johnson’s “Great Society” social programs. Biden liked it.

The president’s team took the 30-second clip from Greene’s speech and posted it on Biden’s Twitter account on Tuesday with the caption: “I approve this message.”

Using Greene’s speech, the reelection campaign ad showed Biden signing legislation and making stops across the country touting his “Investing in America” agenda.

“Joe Biden had the largest public investment in social infrastructure and environmental programs that is actually finishing what FDR started, that LBJ expanded on, and Joe Biden is attempting to complete,” Greene said in the clip. “Programs to address education, medical care, urban problems, world poverty, transportation, Medicare, Medicaid, and labor unions − and he still is working on it.”

Greene described the government as “one big fat bloated machine” that she claims is killing the American dream. But Democrats see her list of social investments as opportunities for the American dream.

The Rev. Al Sharpton discussed Greene’s speech during an MSNBC appearance on Sunday and encouraged Biden to use it as a campaign ad, advice his team seemingly took to heart.

“If I were the Democratic Party leadership or the Biden people, I would take that clip and run it all over the country,” Sharpton said.
