Heather Leggett (@kippinsofficial) took to TikTok with her baby bedtime message.

“We’re gonna tell you the biggest mistake people make when buying a blankie for their baby and it isn’t what you think,” she said in the video.

She shared that the bedding mix-up is affecting many parents with babies.

“It’s got nothing to do with what the blankie is or what brand it’s from,” she said. “The number one mistake we see people making with a blankie is to not buy a spare.”

Heather specified that the mistake could cost parents and children precious hours of sleep.

“We get at least five emails a week from parents who are desperate because their baby will not sleep because they have lost their blankie when they’re out and about,” she said.

The baby pro said that buying a blanket that looks exactly the same won’t always cut it.

“Even though we might sell an identical one in our store the problem is that once your baby is attached to their blankie it’s really unlikely they’ll attach to another object,” she said.

She shared that babies have a way of identifying their favorite items, so a copycat won’t cut it.

“Even if you think it looks identical your baby will know that it’s not their blankie,” she said.

She provided a way to ensure that babies stay pleased with their blankets at bedtime.

“The solution is to buy all of your spares at once and rotate them through the cot,” she said.

The video drew in many viewers who shared their thoughts in the comment section.

“I bought six and now I got an Apple AirTag on it,” one wrote, with Heather replying: “That’s the best.”
