He was reputedly paid £500,000 to take part last year, coming eighth.
George, 62, said: “I was rumoured to have been the highest-paid contestant ever. But if I’d known what I’d go through, I’d have charged double.
“I don’t know what possessed me to do it.
“It’s a show you watch from the comfort of your own home, not one you actually sign up for.”
The Culture Club singer, real name George O’Dowd, has ruled out ever appearing on Strictly Come Dancing He said: “I don’t look good in lycra and my body has its own rhythm.”
Last month, The Sun reported Boy George’s showbiz firm had gone bust with debts of almost £1million.
The company was ordered to shut down by the High Court, due to debts owed to his former Culture Club band mate and ex-boyfriend Jon Moss, 65.
Company assets of £324,682 are being taken by liquidators to pay him back.
The Sun revealed in April that he was facing a a £1.75million damages claim brought by Moss, but the pair managed to reach an out-of-court settlement.
Moss, a founding member of the band, and George were in a secret relationship at the height of the group’s fame.
Moss was sacked in September 2018 and spent £1million on his legal fight.
