She joked that this was the only way her “heathen children” wouldn’t attack everything at once.
Keeping a kid-filled-home organized is hard enough with one child, but a Massachusetts mom (@kbgoats) has it even harder given she’s the parent to two sets of twins.
She’s revealing her method for keeping her space both fun and tidy while the kids are off from school.
“Some mom hacks for you to have an organized summer where your heathen children don’t eat you out of the house and home… or their little devil friends,” she quipped in the video’s caption.
While unpacking boxes of snacks and loading them into separate plastic containers, she said her kitchen wasn’t going to be open for business 24 hours a day.
“I’m getting organized for the kids’ out of school festivities.”
The first rule? Breakfast must be had by 9 am.
“If you don’t get breakfast by then, you ain’t having nothing. The kitchen is closed.
“It reopens again at noon for lunch, then shuts down again at 1 pm. You’re back open at 5 pm.”
She called those hours her “food hours” and said you either get your meals at those time or you miss them.
“I am not here to serve you 24 hours a day.”
As for snacks, she created her own snack packs that can be enjoyed throughout the day.
Each bin contains a water bottle and four snacks of the kids’ choosing that they can have that afternoon.
“And that is all. This is not an open snack party every single day. What do I look like? Money don’t grow on a damn tree.”
As for the additional snacks that are allowed 24 hours a day, that’s going to be yogurt, cheese sticks, fruit, and water.
She placed all the snacks on a shelving unit alongside a gray bin that would be for dirty pool towels.
She also put together a clean towel and sunscreen bin, and an arts and crafts bin for rainy days.
“Welcome to summer in this house.”
Viewers praised her ways.
“This is the Gen X energy out kids need,” one person wrote.
“You’re amazing! I want to be like you when I grow up,” added another.
“I love this idea! Going to set up all the snacks so that they can help themselves! This work-from-home mom does NOT want to be interrupted 9 am-5 pm,” a third chimed in.
