Tuesday 27 June Day of the State Worker in Argentina

Occasional Digest - a story for you

“June 27 is established as a day of rest for employees of the national public administration, in which tasks will not be provided, assimilating it to national holidays for all legal purposes,” provides the rule, which applies in dependencies national, provincial and municipal.

Law 26,876, which was passed on July 3, 2013, was enacted on August 1 of that year. At that time, June 27 was declared as “State Worker’s Day”, assimilating to national holidays for all legal purposes. The provinces were also invited to adhere to the determination.

On that date in 1978, the International Labor Organization (ILO) adopted Convention No. 151 and Recommendation No. 159 related to the right to collective bargaining and labor relations in public administration.
