An ATM allegedly stolen in an early morning ram raid in the Adelaide Hills has been found a day later on the side of a road in a nearby town.

SA Police said officers were called to a licensed premises on Gorge Road at Cudlee Creek about 6am on Saturday, after an employee discovered the venue had been broken into and an ATM had been stolen.

Police said CCTV showed the break-in and theft occurred about 4:30am, with a white Mazda used to ram the front doors before two people were seen stealing the ATM.

Meanwhile, police were called to Angas Creek Road about 5:30am after reports a white Mazda was on fire.

Crews from the Metropolitan Fire Service extinguished the blaze, and police said checks revealed the car had been stolen from Brompton, in Adelaide’s inner-north.

A member of the public then called police about 8:30am on Saturday, after locating the front of an ATM on Tippett Road at Milbrook, near Cudlee Creek.

Police said the damaged ATM was found at Checker Hill Road in the nearby town of Kersbrook this morning.

The small amount of money inside the ATM was gone.

The police investigation continues and anyone with information has been asked to contact Crime Stoppers.
