Carlotta (@carlottacisternas), an interior designer, shared the decor hack with over 9,000 TikTok followers.

“So I think I’ve cracked the code on inexpensive, personal art,” she said.

“Why I’m never buying art ever again.”

She explained that she collected frames from thrift stores and estate sales.

“Doesn’t matter the size, just get a bunch of varieties that you like and then you’re going to go through all of your family photos,” she said.

She suggested picking ones that have personal meanings or notes and putting the momentos in the frames.

“This is a playbook from the ’60s that my grandmother had and I thought it was so cool and these are my grandparents,” she said, showing off the ones she had made.

“It brings me joy every time I look at it… I’m never buying another piece of art again,” she said.

People took to the comments to share their thoughts on her hack.

Some offered additional advice: “Just make sure you’re using museum grade glass or have digitized copies – the older a photo/paper/ink the more sensitive it will be to sun & moisture,” said one commenter.

Others said they got on the hack ASAP: “I literally dropped what I was doing to do this,” said one excited viewer.

“This is such a cute idea!” said another.

“Wow this is such a sweet idea! Thanks for sharing,” said a third.
