The arrest has left Chloe Harris struggling alone with their son Reuben but she gets some help tonight in Emmerdale.
The young mother played by Jessie Elland struggled to believe in Mack’s innocence when the evidence appeared to pile up against him.
Earlier this week on ITV, the authorities turned their attention to Leyla Harding after trying to determine what really happened to Caleb Milligan.
But the wedding planner had an explanation and she admitted that, at the time of Caleb’s fall, she was trying to obtain drugs in Hotten.
Leyla managed to hold herself back from buying the drugs and the police let her go after questioning.
Mackenzie’s alibi, on the other hand, didn’t add as he claimed to have been alone drinking during a walk outside the village.
The hunk had every reason to go after Caleb, particularly when he found out that he’d slept with estranged wife Charity Dingle after sending his sister Moira into financial ruin.
To top it all off, Mack (portrayed by Lawrence Robb) failed to mention he’d had another altercation with Caleb during which he issued him with an ominous warning.
The authorities believed they’d found their culprit and arrested Mackenzie on the spot, leaving Chloe Harris on her own.
But tonight, her sister Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) encourages her despite misgivings.
How will she handle the situation?
This remains to be seen but the police may be disappointed to realise they have the wrong man.
