TikToker Val said that her apple pie ice cream is only 280 calories and boasts a massive 31g of protein.
According to Val (@coffee.cab.leggings.life), this recipe is perfect for summertime, if you can find the ingredients and the time.
“It’s a little bit of work,” she said in the video. “But I promise it’s worth it.”
First, you should cut up an apple into small pieces, coat them in cinnamon, and bake it on a sheet tray at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
The base of the dish is a Fairlife caramel protein shake, which she explained has been missing on grocery store shelves.
After scoring the shake, the lucky shopper will want to pick up a pack of sugar-free vanilla pudding and throw one tablespoon in the mixture.
“And then one tablespoon of my zero-calorie sweetener,” she said while holding up a bag of Truvia.
Take the apples, shake, pudding, and sweetener, and blend everything together until it’s a nice smooth mixture.
“Freeze it and you’ve got yourself an apple pie protein ice cream, and it’s so freaking good,” she said while holding up a large bowl of the stuff.
“And I finish it up with about a third of a cup of almond milk on a respin.”
Unfortunately, Fairlife has discontinued the salted caramel protein shakes, but the Tiktoker said her recipe can be used with any comparable flavor.
