In a TikTok video, she said: “Top tips I’ve learnt using a large paddling pool in the summer heatwaves.

“These tips will keep your pool usable for over seven days.”

The first tip she shared was to use a pump if you have an inflatable pool as this will prevent it from deflating prematurely.

Next, the mum suggested filling your pool with tap water, and adding hot water as and when needed so you aren’t wasting any.

The clever mum also recommended getting a good nest so you can hook out bugs, leaves, and dirt out to keep the water as fresh as possible.

Another tip was to get a bucket for the kids to dunk their feet into before getting in to prevent the water from getting dirty, as well as using a water filter and chlorine to keep it clean.

She also revealed a dark pool cover was vital to keep it clean at night and keep the water as warm as possible.

Finally, she revealed getting a spa heater to help warm the pool up.

The video posted to her account @lucyhamiltonathome has gone viral with over 150k views and over 2,000 likes.

In other news, one woman revealed how she built a swimming pool for her family in just one day.

The mum-of-four, from St Louis, US, has left other parents amazed after showing off the pool she made in her garden for £550.

“I wanted to give this a shot and we felt we could make a cute inexpensive way for the kids to swim all summer,” Arin told NeedToKnow.co.uk.
