Report finds former UK prime minister Boris Johnson deliberately misled parliament over boozy parties during lockdown.

Boris Johnson, the United Kingdom’s former prime minister who was in power during the pandemic, deliberately misled members of parliament (MPs) over lockdown-breaking parties in Downing Street, a UK parliamentary committee ruled on Thursday.

The committee said Johnson would have been suspended as an MP for 90 days for “repeated” contempt of parliament had he not resigned last week.

Johnson called the report a “protracted political assassination”.
