Tonight’s episode, saw a depressed Gethin West put Jan in a difficult situation that could potentially have some life-changing consequences for her.

Gethin had told her before that he wanted to die in his “own” way as his health deteriorated due to motor neurone illness.
Jan was adamant that she didn’t want Gethin to have a similar experience in the ED after she had a bad experience with a patient.
As a result, she was left with no choice but to take matters into her own hands.
That night Jan came home late from the hospital and found Gethin waiting up for her.
He asked: “I thought you were only doing a half shift?
Jan said: “I was but I stayed with a patient.”
Gethin asked her why she had stayed late with the patient and she explained to him that she didn’t want her to be alone.”
She then abruptly said while bringing out a bottle that looked like medicine appeared to be poison: “I’ll do it. That patient, Mary I saw her going through something. I don’t want that for you. If you want to die on your own terms, then I’ll do it.”
Fans on Twitter were left shocked too, and many feared that Jan would lose her job.
One wrote: “Oh no Jan is going to get into so much trouble for this.”
