A person has died in a house fire in Adelaide’s north-western suburbs on Friday afternoon.

Emergency services attended the scene on Murray Street at Angle Park, after a triple-0 call just before 2:30pm.

A female resident was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital with minor injuries, while the body of another person was found at the scene, police have said.

The Metropolitan Fire Service (MFS) said the blaze broke out in the front room of the house.

When firefighters arrived, a neighbour was trying to douse the flames with a garden hose.

“On arrival, 14 MFS firefighters from three fire trucks and a command vehicle found a fire in the front room,” an MFS spokeswoman said.

“[It] took 20 minutes to bring the fire under control, and another 20 minutes to extinguish the blaze.”

The MFS said 14 firefighters extinguished the blaze.()

The cause of the fire is currently unknown, but MFS and SA Police investigators have attended the property.

The damage bill has been estimated at $100,000.

Police have urged anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity at the scene to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
