The Solomon Islands are a nation of hundreds of islands that are located in the South Pacific. It’s home to approximately 686,000+ people and is home to numerous World War II sites. One of its largest islands is Guadalcanal. 

The province of Temotu is the easternmost province of these islands. It was formerly known as Santa Cruze Islands Province, and it covers an area of 895 square kilometers. It’s also home to approximately 21,362 people. In 1984, this area received provincial status. 

• Temotu Province consists of two island chains that run parallel to one another. 
• This province covers 346 square miles and has a population of 21, 362 people. 
• The islands or island groups that make up this province include Anuta, Duff Islands, Fatutaka, Malo, and Reef Islands. 
• Santa Cruz Islands, Tikopia, Utupua, Tinakula, and Vanikoro are also in this province. 
• This province is composed mainly of Melanesians, but there are some Polynesians as well. 
• Some of the remotest dive sites in the world can be found in Temotu Province. 
• This province is known for not only the Brown Ground Dove but is also home to large numbers of Flying Foxes.
