Now I’m told that Matty Healy is moving in with his superstar girlfriend Taylor Swift in New York to help write her next album.
I can reveal that The 1975 frontman has shipped out his favourite guitar effect pedals, audio interfaces, synths and MacBook Pro to set up home with the Anti-Hero hitmaker.
An insider said: “He and Taylor are so loved up and want to spend as much time together as they can.
“Matty has already told the 1975 team that he’ll be doing all the band demos in America for the foreseeable.
“He will work on his parts for their collaboration while she is on tour and has scheduled time to attend select shows to gather inspiration for her next album.”
Taylor split from British actor Joe Alwyn in February after six years together.
The source added: “Matty is Joe 2.0 — her superstar status doesn’t faze him in the slightest.”
Tonight Taylor performed in New Jersey as part of her sell-out Eras Tour while Matty and the band headlined at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Dundee.
It comes after Taylor included a never-before-heard break-up song, You’re Losing Me, on her Midnights (The Til Dawn Edition) album, which was sold exclusively at the New Jersey show.
Fans speculated that it is inspired by her split from Joe.
In it Taylor sings: “I can’t find a pulse, my heart won’t start any more for you, ’cause you’re losing me.”
I hope she and Matty unpack quickly so they can get to work writing their next hit.
FERNE McCann is trying to find the positives after her voice notes about ex-pal Sam Faiers were leaked.
She said: “Some of my best moments have come from hate and pain.
“When you hit rock bottom, the only way to move forward is to pick yourself up. I’ve had a lot of therapy.”
CAUGHT LIVE
Cecil @ Laylow, London
★★★★☆
DRESSED in a futuristic bodysuit and accompanied by a three-piece band, Cecil lit up the stage for her sold-out show.
Opening with Scorcese, a catchy and upbeat slice of dance pop, she instantly had the crowd on her side.
Her diverse set-list including dream pop Tokyo Tornado and the grungier, synth-heavy Zodiac, proved Cecil’s music cannot be pigeon- holed.
But the highlight of the show was her first ever live performance of Candid Dreams, a touching ballad about loss, which stunned her audience.
JOE JONAS turned up the energy in Dundee as he took to the stage with his brothers Nick and Kevin.
The US pop-rock band played hits including Sucker and Leave Before You Love Me, along with a cover of Year 3000 by Busted.
THIRTY SECONDS TO MARS fans were left disappointed as the band were unable to play at the festival in Dundee “due to technical difficulties”.
Set to perform today, an insider said: “They are gutted backstage.”
CLARA AMFO risked a wardrobe malfunction as she presented at Camperdown Park.
The Radio 1 DJ was seen backstage fixing her skirt.
A source said: “Clara pushes boundarie – but not her skirt flying off!”
MIX GET IN THE FLO
BRIT rising stars Flo have revealed Little Mix have been their greatest supporters since they emerged into the industry.
Chatting to the trio at Big Weekend, Flo’s Jorja said: “Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall from Little Mix said they are here for us if we need them.”
Meanwhile, the Cardboard Box hitmakers, who featured on Stormzy’s remix Hide & Seek, also revealed they want American singer Brandy to feature on their next track, appealing: “Brandy, if you are reading The Sun on Sunday then we want to collaborate.”
MIMI: I’M GLAD TO SING SAD
MIMI Webb has revealed she doesn’t plan to stop writing heartbreak anthems, despite finding love with old pal JP.
Backstage at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Dundee, the Ghost Of You singer told Biz on Sunday: “I feel like I just pull from so many different situations in my life, as well as chapters and experiences.
“For me, it is about taking all of those, everything from my journey, and putting it towards my music.
“You never know, I could have another heartbreak.
“But I really appreciate that journey of life, especially when I write about it, because it makes you realise life is actually so up and down, and that is just part and parcel of it all.
“You have your highs and lows and then you just have to enjoy every second of it.”
Mimi doesn’t want to rush her relationship with JP, who couldn’t make it to Dundee, so has no plans to move in with him just yet.
She said: “We are just enjoying being young and we have been friends for a long time. He is very jealous he is not at Big Weekend, because he loves The 1975.”
